  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

This veggie burger recipe gives you a delicious and satisfying plant-based alternative to traditional burgers, packed with flavor and nutrients. Perfect for grilling or pan-frying, these burgers are easy to make and can be customized with your favorite toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup corn (fresh or canned)
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
  • 1 egg (or flax egg for a vegan option)
  • Burger buns
  • Toppings: lettuce, tomato, avocado, cheese, etc.

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork or potato masher until mostly smooth, leaving some chunky bits for texture.
  2. Add the breadcrumbs, corn, onion, garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to the mashed beans. Mix until well combined.
  3. If using, stir in the chopped cilantro and the egg or flax egg until everything is mixed well.
  4. Form the mixture into patties (about 4-6, depending on desired size).
  5. Heat a non-stick skillet or grill over medium heat and lightly grease if necessary.
  6. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and heated through.
  7. Serve on burger buns with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add some diced jalapeños or cayenne pepper to the mixture.
  • These patties can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for longer storage.
  • You can customize the flavors by adding different herbs and spices as desired.
