Ingredients

  • 14 oz (400g) firm tofu, drained and pressed
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add the tofu cubes to the bowl and gently toss until evenly coated.
  5. Sprinkle cornstarch over the tofu and toss again to ensure an even coating.
  6. Place the tofu cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  7. Air fry for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking, until golden and crispy.
  8. Once done, remove from the air fryer and let cool for a few minutes.
  9. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the tofu in the soy sauce mixture for 15-30 minutes before air frying.
  • Feel free to experiment with additional seasonings like smoked paprika or chili powder for a different taste.
