A refreshing Southern classic, sweet tea is the perfect balance of brewed tea and sugar, served chilled over ice.
Ingredients

- 4 cups Water
- 4 Black tea bags
- 1 cup Granulated sugar
- as needed Ice
- for garnish Lemon slices
Instructions
- Boil 4 cups of water in a saucepan.
- Once boiling, remove from heat and add the 4 black tea bags.
- Let the tea steep for 5 to 10 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.
- Remove the tea bags and stir in 1 cup of granulated sugar until dissolved.
- Allow the tea to cool to room temperature.
- Once cooled, pour the sweet tea into a pitcher and refrigerate until chilled.
- Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices.
Notes
- For a stronger flavor, let the tea steep longer.
- Adjust the amount of sugar to taste for desired sweetness.
- You can also add fresh mint or fruit for additional flavor.
