A refreshing Southern classic, sweet tea is the perfect balance of brewed tea and sugar, served chilled over ice.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups Water
  • 4 Black tea bags
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • as needed Ice
  • for garnish Lemon slices

Instructions

  1. Boil 4 cups of water in a saucepan.
  2. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the 4 black tea bags.
  3. Let the tea steep for 5 to 10 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.
  4. Remove the tea bags and stir in 1 cup of granulated sugar until dissolved.
  5. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature.
  6. Once cooled, pour the sweet tea into a pitcher and refrigerate until chilled.
  7. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices.

Notes

  • For a stronger flavor, let the tea steep longer.
  • Adjust the amount of sugar to taste for desired sweetness.
  • You can also add fresh mint or fruit for additional flavor.
