- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the softened butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and well combined, about 2-3 minutes.
- Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with the powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese until smooth.
- Once the cakes are completely cooled, spread a layer of the mascarpone mixture on top of one cake layer. Layer half of the sliced strawberries over the cream.
- Place the second cake layer on top and repeat the process with the remaining mascarpone mixture and strawberries.
- Decorate the top of the cake with edible flowers for a beautiful presentation. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
- Choose a variety of edible flowers that are safe for consumption and complement the flavors of the cake.
- For an extra touch, drizzle some strawberry sauce over the cake before serving.
