This homemade strawberry ice cream is creamy, delicious, and bursting with fresh strawberry flavor. Perfect for summer days or any time you crave a sweet treat!
Ingredients

- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the sliced strawberries and 1/4 cup of the sugar. Stir gently and let sit for 15 minutes to macerate.
- In a blender, combine the macerated strawberries (with their juices), milk, remaining sugar, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt. Blend until smooth.
- Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until completely cold.
- Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
- Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
- Scoop and serve, garnished with fresh strawberries if desired.
Notes
- For a chunkier texture, reserve some of the macerated strawberries and fold them into the ice cream before freezing.
- This ice cream can be stored in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.
