  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

This homemade strawberry ice cream is creamy, delicious, and bursting with fresh strawberry flavor. Perfect for summer days or any time you crave a sweet treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the sliced strawberries and 1/4 cup of the sugar. Stir gently and let sit for 15 minutes to macerate.
  2. In a blender, combine the macerated strawberries (with their juices), milk, remaining sugar, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt. Blend until smooth.
  3. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until completely cold.
  4. Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
  5. Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
  6. Scoop and serve, garnished with fresh strawberries if desired.

Notes

  • For a chunkier texture, reserve some of the macerated strawberries and fold them into the ice cream before freezing.
  • This ice cream can be stored in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.
