Tender and flavorful spare ribs cooked to perfection with a delicious homemade BBQ sauce.


Ingredients

  • 2 racks Spare ribs
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Rub the spice mixture all over the spare ribs, covering both sides.
  4. Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, meat side up.
  5. Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of aluminum foil.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until tender.
  7. Remove the ribs from the oven and increase the temperature to 400°F (200°C).
  8. In a small bowl, mix the apple cider vinegar with the BBQ sauce.
  9. Brush the BBQ sauce mixture over the ribs.
  10. Return the ribs to the oven and bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the sauce is caramelized.
  11. Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the ribs overnight with the spice rub.
  • You can also cook the ribs on a grill for a smoky flavor after baking.
