- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 4 cups cooked rice
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Sesame seeds for garnish
- Ponzu sauce for drizzling
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, beaten egg, and cold water until just combined.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat.
- Dip the shrimp into the batter, allowing excess to drip off, and carefully place them in the hot oil.
- Fry the shrimp until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In serving bowls, divide the cooked rice and top with the crispy shrimp.
- Drizzle ponzu sauce over the shrimp and rice.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- For extra crunch, you can add panko breadcrumbs to the batter.
