Description
A classic Louisiana sandwich filled with crispy fried shrimp, lettuce, tomatoes, and a spicy remoulade sauce, served on a soft French baguette.

- 1 lb medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
- 4 French baguette rolls
- Lettuce, shredded
- Tomatoes, sliced
- Pickles, sliced
- Spicy remoulade sauce
Instructions
- In a bowl, soak the shrimp in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat.
- Remove shrimp from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating.
- Fry the shrimp in hot oil until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- To assemble, slice the baguette rolls and spread a generous amount of remoulade sauce on each side.
- Layer with lettuce, sliced tomatoes, pickles, and crispy fried shrimp.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your Shrimp Po Boy!
