Roasted Brussels Sprouts: 5 Steps to Crispy Perfection

  • Author: ushinzomr
  • Total Time: 35
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes (if using) until evenly coated.
  3. Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet, cut side down for maximum caramelization.
  4. Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the Brussels sprouts are golden brown and crispy. Shake the pan halfway through to ensure even cooking.
  5. Remove from the oven and drizzle with balsamic vinegar. Toss to combine.
  6. If using, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add chopped bacon before roasting.
  • Make sure not to overcrowd the baking sheet to ensure crispy Brussels sprouts.
  • These can be served as a side dish or tossed into salads for added crunch.
