Ingredients
Scale
- 2 racks of pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (your choice)
- Aluminum foil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs for better tenderness.
- In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
- Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs.
- Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, bone side down.
- Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of aluminum foil.
- Bake the ribs in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until they are tender.
- Remove the ribs from the oven and discard the top layer of foil.
- Brush your favorite barbecue sauce generously over the ribs.
- Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, for an additional 15-20 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
- Remove from the oven, let rest for a few minutes, then slice and serve.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the ribs in the spice mix overnight in the refrigerator.
- If you prefer a spicier kick, add cayenne pepper to the spice mix.
- Leftover ribs can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
