Ingredients

Scale

  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 large Onion
  • 1 Green bell pepper
  • 4 slices Provolone cheese
  • 4 Hoagie rolls
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add sliced onions (and bell peppers if using) and sauté until they are soft and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Push the onions and peppers to one side of the skillet and add the sliced ribeye steak to the other side.
  4. Season the steak with salt and black pepper and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Mix the steak with the onions and peppers, and then place the provolone cheese slices on top.
  6. Cover the skillet with a lid to melt the cheese, about 2 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and divide the mixture among the hoagie rolls, serving immediately.

Notes

  • You can substitute ribeye with flank steak or sirloin if preferred.
  • For a classic taste, use Cheez Whiz instead of provolone cheese.
