Description
A classic Philly cheesesteak recipe featuring tender beef, melted cheese, and sautéed onions served on a hoagie roll.
Ingredients

- 1 pound Ribeye steak
- 2 tablespoons Olive oil
- 1 large Onion
- 1 Green bell pepper
- 4 slices Provolone cheese
- 4 Hoagie rolls
- to taste Salt
- to taste Black pepper
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add sliced onions (and bell peppers if using) and sauté until they are soft and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
- Push the onions and peppers to one side of the skillet and add the sliced ribeye steak to the other side.
- Season the steak with salt and black pepper and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
- Mix the steak with the onions and peppers, and then place the provolone cheese slices on top.
- Cover the skillet with a lid to melt the cheese, about 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and divide the mixture among the hoagie rolls, serving immediately.
Notes
- You can substitute ribeye with flank steak or sirloin if preferred.
- For a classic taste, use Cheez Whiz instead of provolone cheese.
