- 4 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sugar together until it turns golden brown.
- Add the sliced pears, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the pears are tender and coated in caramel.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Transfer it to a tart pan and trim the edges.
- Arrange the caramelized pears on top of the pastry, pouring any remaining caramel sauce over them.
- Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until the pastry is golden brown.
