Description
This classic peach cobbler recipe features sweet, juicy peaches topped with a buttery biscuit-like crust. Perfect for summer gatherings or cozy family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups fresh peaches, sliced (about 6–8 peaches)
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and salt. Toss to coat the peaches evenly. Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, and baking powder. Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until just combined.
- Pour the batter over the peaches in the baking dish. Do not stir; the batter will rise while baking.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Notes
- You can use canned peaches if fresh ones are not available. Just drain well before using.
- For an extra flavor twist, add a pinch of nutmeg or some chopped pecans to the batter.
- Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delicious dessert.
