Peach Cobbler Recipe: 5 Steps to Pure Summer Bliss

  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

This classic peach cobbler recipe features sweet, juicy peaches topped with a buttery biscuit-like crust. Perfect for summer gatherings or cozy family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh peaches, sliced (about 68 peaches)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and salt. Toss to coat the peaches evenly. Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, and baking powder. Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter over the peaches in the baking dish. Do not stir; the batter will rise while baking.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • You can use canned peaches if fresh ones are not available. Just drain well before using.
  • For an extra flavor twist, add a pinch of nutmeg or some chopped pecans to the batter.
  • Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delicious dessert.
