Description
A classic peach cobbler recipe that’s simple, delicious, and perfect for summer. Juicy peaches topped with a buttery biscuit-like crust create a comforting dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup sugar, divided
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Toss until the peaches are well coated.
- Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined. The batter will be lumpy.
- Spoon the batter over the peaches, spreading it evenly but not worrying about covering them completely.
- Sprinkle cinnamon on top if desired.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the batter comes out clean.
- Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with ice cream or whipped cream!
Notes
- Feel free to use frozen peaches if fresh ones are not available.
- For an extra twist, add a pinch of nutmeg or use brown sugar instead of white for a richer flavor.
