Description

A classic, homemade peach cobbler that features juicy peaches topped with a sweet, buttery biscuit-like crust. Perfect for summer gatherings or cozy family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Vanilla ice cream (for serving, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup of sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, combine the flour, remaining 1/2 cup of sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the batter over the peach mixture. Do not spread it out completely; it will spread as it bakes.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the peaches are bubbling.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
