  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

This classic peach cobbler recipe features sweet, juicy peaches topped with a buttery, flaky crust. Perfect for summer gatherings or any time you’re craving a sweet dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh peaches, sliced (about 68 peaches)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss until the peaches are well coated, then set aside to let the juices mingle.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining 1/2 cup of sugar.
  4. Pour in the milk and melted butter, mixing until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Spoon the peach mixture over the batter, along with all the juices. Do not stir.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cobbler is bubbling.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of nutmeg or vanilla extract to the peach mixture.
  • If using canned peaches, make sure to drain them well to avoid excess liquid.
  • This cobbler can be made ahead of time and reheated in the oven before serving.
