Description
This classic peach cobbler recipe features sweet, juicy peaches topped with a buttery, flaky crust. Perfect for summer gatherings or any time you’re craving a sweet dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups fresh peaches, sliced (about 6–8 peaches)
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss until the peaches are well coated, then set aside to let the juices mingle.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining 1/2 cup of sugar.
- Pour in the milk and melted butter, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Spoon the peach mixture over the batter, along with all the juices. Do not stir.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cobbler is bubbling.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of nutmeg or vanilla extract to the peach mixture.
- If using canned peaches, make sure to drain them well to avoid excess liquid.
- This cobbler can be made ahead of time and reheated in the oven before serving.
