Description
This easy peach cobbler is a simple yet delicious dessert that highlights the sweetness of fresh peaches with a buttery, golden crust. Perfect for summer gatherings or cozy family dinners!
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Ice cream or whipped cream for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Mix well and set aside to let the flavors meld.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining sugar.
- Gradually stir in the milk until the batter is smooth. Then, fold in the melted butter.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter. Do not stir; the peaches will sink during baking.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the batter comes out clean.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
Notes
- For a twist, try adding a pinch of nutmeg or using fresh berries along with the peaches.
- This cobbler can be made with frozen peaches as well; just ensure they are thawed and drained before using.
