Delicious homemade peach cobbler with a flaky crust and sweet, juicy filling. Perfect for summer gatherings or cozy nights in!
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/4 cup flour, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss until the peaches are well coated. Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In another bowl, whisk together the 1 cup of flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining 1/2 cup of sugar. Stir in the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract until the batter is smooth.
- Pour the batter evenly over the peach mixture in the baking dish. Do not stir.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the cobbler comes out clean.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm with ice cream or whipped cream!
Notes
- For a richer flavor, consider adding a pinch of nutmeg to the peach filling.
- You can use frozen peaches if fresh ones are not available; just make sure to thaw and drain excess liquid.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream for an extra special treat!
