Description

Deliciously juicy and tender oven-baked ribs that are packed with flavor, perfect for any comfort food craving.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 racks of baby back ribs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (your choice)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and pat them dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper.
  4. Rub the olive oil on both sides of the ribs and then apply the spice mix generously, covering all surfaces.
  5. Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, meat side up. Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of foil.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the ribs are tender.
  7. Remove the ribs from the oven and discard the top layer of foil. Brush your favorite barbecue sauce on the ribs.
  8. Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, for an additional 15-20 minutes until caramelized.
  9. Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the ribs in the spice mix overnight in the refrigerator.
  • Feel free to adjust the spice levels according to your preference.
  • Serve with additional barbecue sauce on the side.
