Ingredients
Scale
- 2 racks of baby back ribs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (your choice)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and pat them dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper.
- Rub the olive oil on both sides of the ribs and then apply the spice mix generously, covering all surfaces.
- Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, meat side up. Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of foil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the ribs are tender.
- Remove the ribs from the oven and discard the top layer of foil. Brush your favorite barbecue sauce on the ribs.
- Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, for an additional 15-20 minutes until caramelized.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the ribs in the spice mix overnight in the refrigerator.
- Feel free to adjust the spice levels according to your preference.
- Serve with additional barbecue sauce on the side.
