Description

A refreshing and zesty mint lemonade perfect for cooling down on a hot day.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup Fresh mint leaves
  • 1 cup Freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 4 cups Water
  • as needed Ice cubes
  • for garnish Lemon slices
  • for garnish Mint sprigs

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved to make a simple syrup. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. In a blender, combine the fresh mint leaves with 1 cup of water. Blend until smooth.
  3. Strain the mint mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove leaves.
  4. Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice, cooled simple syrup, and remaining 3 cups of water to the pitcher. Stir well to combine.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more sugar or lemon juice if desired.
  6. Serve over ice cubes and garnish with lemon slices and mint sprigs.
