Ingredients

  • 1 cup Fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/4 cup Lemon juice
  • 2 cups Club soda
  • as needed Ice
  • for garnish Mint sprigs

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar has dissolved completely. Remove from heat.
  2. Add the fresh mint leaves to the sugar syrup and let it steep for about 30 minutes.
  3. Strain the mint syrup into a pitcher, discarding the mint leaves.
  4. Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice and stir to combine.
  5. Fill glasses with ice and pour the mint syrup mixture over the ice, filling each glass halfway.
  6. Top with club soda and garnish with mint sprigs. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a sweeter drink, adjust the amount of sugar to your taste.
  • You can also add a splash of fruit juice, like lime or orange, for a different flavor twist.
