Memorial Day BBQ: 5 Tender Ribs to Savor This Holiday

  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

Celebrate Memorial Day with these delicious, tender BBQ ribs that are perfect for grilling. They are marinated in a flavorful spice rub and finished with a homemade BBQ sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 racks of baby back ribs
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium heat (about 300°F).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to create a spice rub.
  3. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor absorption. Rub the spice mixture all over the ribs, ensuring they are well-coated.
  4. Wrap the ribs in aluminum foil and place them on the grill. Cook for 2 to 2.5 hours, until the ribs are tender.
  5. Remove the ribs from the grill and discard the foil. Brush the ribs with BBQ sauce on both sides.
  6. Return the ribs to the grill and cook for an additional 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally and brushing with more sauce, until the sauce is caramelized and bubbly.
  7. Remove from the grill and let the ribs rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve with extra BBQ sauce.

Notes

  • For added flavor, marinate ribs with the spice rub overnight in the refrigerator.
  • You can also cook these ribs in the oven at 300°F for 2.5 to 3 hours if grilling isn’t an option.
