A refreshing and zesty lemon sorbet that’s perfect for hot days. This easy-to-make dessert is a delightful way to cool down and satisfy your sweet tooth!
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 lemons (freshly squeezed for maximum flavor)
- 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust based on sweetness preference)
- 2 cups water (for the syrup)
- 2 tablespoons lemon zest (for added flavor)
- a pinch salt (to enhance the flavors)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the water and sugar over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is dissolved completely. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Once the syrup has cooled, add the freshly squeezed lemon juice, lemon zest, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.
- Pour the mixture into a shallow dish and place it in the freezer.
- Every 30 minutes, use a fork to scrape and stir the mixture until it’s fully frozen and has a fluffy texture. This should take about 3-4 hours.
- Once ready, scoop the lemon sorbet into bowls and serve immediately. Enjoy your refreshing treat!
Notes
- For a creamier texture, you can blend the sorbet after it has frozen for a few hours and then refreeze it for an additional hour.
- Feel free to experiment with adding fresh herbs like mint or basil for a unique twist!
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 1 week.
