- 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a food processor, combine chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Pulse until a coarse mixture forms.
- Transfer the mixture to a bowl and mix in the flour until combined.
- Form the mixture into small balls or patties.
- In a frying pan, heat oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the falafel balls.
- Fry for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with tahini sauce or in pita bread.
