- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 large egg yolks
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup key lime juice (freshly squeezed if possible)
- 1 tablespoon lime zest
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- Lime slices, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Mix until well combined.
- Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish to form a crust.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk, key lime juice, and lime zest until smooth.
- Pour the filling into the prepared crust.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool to room temperature.
- Refrigerate for at least 3 hours or until set.
- In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Spread the whipped cream over the chilled pie and garnish with lime slices.
- Slice and serve chilled.
