Description
These juicy oven-baked ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender every time, making them a perfect dish for family gatherings or any special occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 racks of baby back ribs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor absorption.
- In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs.
- Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of foil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the meat pulls away from the bone easily.
- Remove the ribs from the oven and discard the top layer of foil. Brush the ribs generously with barbecue sauce.
- Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and return the ribs to the oven for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the sauce is caramelized.
- Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the ribs in the spice mixture overnight in the refrigerator.
- Feel free to adjust the spice levels according to your taste preference.
- You can also finish the ribs on a grill for a smoky flavor after baking.
