Description
Crispy and delicious homemade potato chips made effortlessly in an air fryer. Perfect for snacking!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large russet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: additional seasonings (e.g., paprika, garlic powder, or your favorite spice blend)
Instructions
- Wash and peel the potatoes. Using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife, slice the potatoes thinly (about 1/8 inch thick).
- Soak the potato slices in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat dry with a clean kitchen towel.
- In a large bowl, toss the potato slices with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and any additional seasonings you desire until evenly coated.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the potato slices in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they do not overlap. You may need to work in batches.
- Cook the potato slices for 10-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
- Once the chips are golden brown and crispy, remove them from the air fryer and let them cool on a wire rack.
- Enjoy your homemade potato chips as a snack or with your favorite dip!
Notes
- For extra crispiness, you can spray the potato slices lightly with cooking spray before air frying.
- Experiment with different seasonings like ranch, chili powder, or cheese powder for unique flavors.
- Store any leftover chips in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
