- 4 cups water
- 1 cup dried hibiscus flowers
- 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- Ice for serving
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
- Remove from heat and add the dried hibiscus flowers. Let steep for 15 minutes.
- Strain the mixture into a pitcher, discarding the hibiscus flowers.
- Stir in the sugar while the tea is still warm, allowing it to dissolve completely.
- Add the fresh lime juice and stir well.
- Chill the tea in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Serve over ice and garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
Notes
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar according to your preference.
- For added flavor, try infusing the tea with slices of fresh ginger or fruit.
- This tea can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
