Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- Toss the wings in the flour mixture until well coated. Shake off excess flour.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the wings in batches for about 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Remove the wings and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, double-dip the wings by dipping them in flour, then back in a mixture of beaten eggs, and then in flour again before frying.
- Let the oil return to temperature between batches for the best results.
