Ingredients

  • 1 pound white fish fillets (like cod or tilapia)
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges
  • For the sauce: 1/2 cup sour cream, 1 tablespoon lime juice, 1 teaspoon hot sauce

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Rub the spice mixture over both sides of the fish fillets.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the fish and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and flaky.
  4. While the fish is cooking, prepare the sauce by mixing sour cream, lime juice, and hot sauce in a bowl. Set aside.
  5. Warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.
  6. To assemble the tacos, place a piece of fish on each tortilla, top with shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes, and cilantro.
  7. Drizzle the lime sauce over the top and add avocado slices.
  8. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
