Description
Delicious and crispy fish tacos topped with fresh ingredients and a zesty sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb white fish fillets (such as cod or tilapia)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 8 small corn or flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cabbage
- 1 avocado, sliced
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
- Lime wedges, for serving
- Zesty sauce (mix sour cream, lime juice, and sriracha to taste)
Instructions
- In a shallow bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Dip each fish fillet into the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture until well coated.
- In another bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs. Dip the floured fish into the breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Fry the fish for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Warm the tortillas in a skillet or microwave.
- Assemble the tacos: place a piece of fried fish on each tortilla, top with shredded cabbage, avocado slices, and a drizzle of zesty sauce.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the fish in lime juice and spices for 30 minutes before cooking.
- Feel free to add your favorite toppings like diced tomatoes, jalapeños, or cheese.
