- 6 hot dogs

Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix buttermilk and egg. Add to dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Insert wooden skewers into hot dogs, leaving enough space for handling.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot over medium heat.
- Dip each hot dog into the cornmeal batter, allowing excess to drip off.
- Carefully place the coated hot dogs into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
