Description
These soft and chewy cookies made with sweetened condensed milk are a delightful treat that melts in your mouth.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (240ml) sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/2 cup (50g) chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sweetened condensed milk until smooth.
- Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- If using, fold in the chocolate chips and/or chopped nuts.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look slightly underbaked; they will firm up as they cool.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a variation, try adding different mix-ins like dried fruit or coconut flakes.
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
