Description
Soft, fluffy cinnamon rolls topped with a creamy icing that melts in your mouth.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 cup whole milk, warmed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for icing)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Add melted butter, eggs, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually add flour until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Once risen, roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
- Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly on top.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and cover. Let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- While baking, make the icing by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Once rolls are out of the oven, drizzle icing over the warm rolls and serve.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add chopped nuts or raisins to the filling.
- You can prepare the dough the night before; let it rise in the fridge overnight.
