- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whole milk, warmed
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix warmed milk, melted butter, and eggs.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll the dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter on top, and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make the icing.
- Drizzle the icing over warm cinnamon rolls before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add raisins or nuts to the filling.
- Store leftovers covered at room temperature for up to 2 days.
