Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine water, 2 tablespoons sugar, salt, and 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in flour until mixture forms a ball.
  3. Let the mixture cool for about 10 minutes. Then, add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon for coating.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat. Use a piping bag fitted with a star tip to pipe churros into hot oil, cutting them to your desired length.
  6. Fry churros until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  7. While still warm, roll churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture until coated. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying to ensure crispy churros.
  • You can serve churros with chocolate sauce for dipping.
