Description
Deliciously crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, these homemade churros are the perfect treat for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine water, 2 tablespoons sugar, salt, and 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Remove from heat and stir in flour until mixture forms a ball.
- Let the mixture cool for about 10 minutes. Then, add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon for coating.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat. Use a piping bag fitted with a star tip to pipe churros into hot oil, cutting them to your desired length.
- Fry churros until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- While still warm, roll churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture until coated. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying to ensure crispy churros.
- You can serve churros with chocolate sauce for dipping.
