Description

Deliciously crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, these churros are rolled in cinnamon sugar and served with a rich chocolate sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup additional granulated sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine water, vegetable oil, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in flour until a ball forms. Let cool for 5 minutes.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition until smooth.
  4. In a deep skillet, heat oil for frying over medium heat.
  5. Spoon batter into a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
  6. Pipe 6-inch strips of dough into hot oil, frying until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Remove churros from oil and roll in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar.
  8. For the chocolate sauce, heat chocolate chips and heavy cream in a saucepan over low heat until melted and smooth.
  9. Serve churros warm with chocolate sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying to avoid soggy churros.
  • You can add vanilla extract to the dough for extra flavor.
