Description
This classic cheeseburger recipe features juicy beef patties topped with melted cheese, fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion, all served on a toasted bun.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Onion slices
- Ketchup and mustard (optional)
- Butter (for toasting the buns)
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.
- In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Divide the beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty.
- Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
- While the patties are cooking, butter the hamburger buns and toast them on the grill or in a separate skillet until golden brown.
- Assemble your cheeseburgers: place a patty on each bun, then top with lettuce, tomato, onion, and any condiments you like.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- For a spicier kick, consider adding jalapeños or spicy mustard.
- You can also customize your cheeseburger with other toppings like pickles, bacon, or avocado.
