Description
A refreshing and tangy blueberry lemonade that’s perfect for summer gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 4 cups cold water
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices and extra blueberries for garnish
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of blueberries, 1 cup of sugar, and 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
- Once boiling, reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes until the blueberries break down and the mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Strain the blueberry mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher, discarding the solids.
- Add 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice and 4 cups of cold water to the pitcher. Stir well to combine.
- Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary by adding more sugar or water.
- Serve over ice, garnished with lemon slices and extra blueberries.
Notes
- For a fizzy version, replace some of the cold water with soda water.
- You can make the blueberry syrup ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to a week.
- Adjust the amount of sugar based on your preference for sweetness.
