  • 1 tablespoon black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your smoker or grill to 225°F (107°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and brown sugar to create a dry rub.
  3. Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket, covering it evenly.
  4. Place the brisket in the smoker or on the grill, fat side up, and smoke for about 1 hour per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).
  5. Every hour, spritz the brisket with beef broth to keep it moist.
