Description
A classic, creamy banana pudding dessert that layers delicious vanilla pudding, fresh bananas, and crunchy vanilla wafers.

- 4 cups Milk
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 cup Cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 4 large Egg Yolks
- 2 tablespoons Butter
- 1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract
- 4 medium, sliced Bananas
- 2 cups Vanilla Wafers
- 2 cups, for topping Whipped Cream
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together the milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt over medium heat until the mixture thickens and starts to bubble.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks. Slowly pour about 1 cup of the hot milk mixture into the egg yolks, whisking constantly to temper the eggs.
- Return the egg mixture to the saucepan and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla extract.
- Layer the bottom of a serving dish with vanilla wafers, followed by a layer of sliced bananas, and then pour half of the pudding mixture over the top.
- Repeat the layers, ending with the remaining pudding on top. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Before serving, top with whipped cream and additional banana slices if desired.
