  • Author: ushinzomr

Description

These baby back ribs are cooked in the oven, resulting in juicy, tender meat that is packed with flavor. Perfect for a family dinner or a weekend barbecue.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 racks baby back ribs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (your choice)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor absorption.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  4. Rub the spice mixture all over the ribs, ensuring they are well coated.
  5. Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil and cover them tightly with another piece of foil.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours until the ribs are tender.
  7. Remove the ribs from the oven and increase the temperature to 400°F (200°C).
  8. Brush your favorite barbecue sauce generously over the ribs.
  9. Return the ribs to the oven uncovered and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the sauce is caramelized.
  10. Remove from the oven, let rest for a few minutes, then slice and serve.

Notes

  • For an extra smoky flavor, consider adding liquid smoke to the spice rub.
  • You can also finish the ribs on a grill for a few minutes after baking for added char.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
