- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- In a shallow bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness for even cooking.
- Coat each chicken breast in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing the crumbs onto the chicken to adhere.
- Spray both sides of the coated chicken breasts with cooking spray.
- Place the chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 10 minutes.
- After 10 minutes, flip the chicken and spoon marinara sauce over each breast. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Cook for an additional 5 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the air fryer and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Serve with pasta or a side salad for a complete meal.
- You can use store-bought or homemade marinara sauce.
- For extra crunch, double-dip the chicken in egg before coating with breadcrumbs.
