Description
Crispy, juicy chicken tenders made effortlessly in the air fryer. Perfectly seasoned and healthier than traditional fried chicken.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound chicken tenders
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the chicken tenders and buttermilk. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight in the refrigerator.
- In another bowl, mix together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge each tender in the flour mixture, pressing to adhere.
- Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and place the coated chicken tenders in a single layer, making sure they are not overcrowded.
- Spray the tops of the chicken tenders with cooking spray.
- Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C).
- Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For extra crunch, consider adding breadcrumbs to the flour mixture.
- Feel free to customize the seasoning to your taste.
- If you have larger chicken tenders, you may need to adjust the cooking time.
