Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in buttermilk and vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients gradually, mixing until just combined.
- Divide the batter between the prepared pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow cakes to cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
- Once cooled, layer the cakes with sliced strawberries and whipped cream.
