Tender and flavorful short ribs cooked in a slow cooker.
Ingredients

- 4 lbs beef short ribs
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup red wine
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
Instructions
- Season the short ribs with salt and pepper.
- In a skillet, brown the short ribs on all sides.
- Place the chopped onion, garlic, carrots, and celery in the slow cooker.
- Add the browned short ribs on top of the vegetables.
- In a bowl, mix beef broth, red wine, tomato paste, soy sauce, brown sugar, and paprika.
- Pour the mixture over the short ribs in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until tender.
- Serve with the cooking liquid spooned over the top.
Notes
- For a thicker sauce, remove the short ribs and reduce the sauce on the stove.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
