Ingredients

  • 4 black cod fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, lemon zest, lemon juice, parsley, dill, chives, and minced garlic. Mix until well combined and set aside.
  3. Brush the black cod fillets with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Place the fillets skin-side down on the grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes per side, depending on thickness, until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  5. During the last minute of grilling, spoon the lemon herb butter over the fillets to melt.
  6. Remove from the grill and serve immediately, garnished with additional herbs or lemon slices if desired.
