Description

Juicy and flavorful, this Beer-Can Chicken recipe is perfect for your next barbecue. The beer infuses the chicken with moisture and flavor, resulting in a tender and delicious meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 whole chicken (about 45 lbs)
  • 1 can of beer (your choice)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Fresh herbs (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and rub the spice mixture all over the chicken, including under the skin where possible.
  4. Open the can of beer and drink or pour out half of it. You can also use a beer can holder if you have one.
  5. Insert the beer can into the cavity of the chicken, ensuring it stands upright.
  6. Place the chicken on the grill, standing up with the can inside. Close the grill lid.
  7. Cook the chicken for approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F in the thickest part of the thigh.
  8. Once cooked, carefully remove the chicken from the grill using tongs. Let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
  9. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and serve.
