Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Cooked rice, for serving
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
  • Sliced green onions, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, brown sugar, and black pepper. Add the sliced flank steak and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the marinated beef to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the broccoli florets and a splash of water. Cover and steam for about 2-3 minutes until tender but still crisp.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet with the broccoli and toss everything together until heated through.
  6. Serve the beef and broccoli over cooked rice, and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a splash of sesame oil to the skillet before serving.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for more color and nutrition.
